Red.es, the domain registry in Spain will allow characters belonging to the Spanish language other than those included in the English alphabet from October. The following characters will be allowed:

• á, à

• é, è

• í, ï

• ó, ò

• ú, ü

• ñ

• ç

• l•l

The domain name registration under .ES with multilingual characters will be gradually implemented through a staggered registration process which will be executed on 2 October at 06.00 and will conclude at 18.00 on 30 October.
