We’ve simplified the registrant verification process for our reseller and registrar partners while allowing them to remain in control of their branding and end-user communications.
What is Registrant Verification?
ICANN requires that all domain registrants verify their contact information via a link sent to them from their registrar by email. This process is challenging for registrars and resellers for a few reasons:
- Administrative burden: ensuring that all registrant data is verified, is a challenging task to manage.
- Unhappy customers: registrants are at risk of having their domain parked if they ignore or miss the verification e-mails.
- Technological strain: having the right system in place so that verification e-mails can be sent accurately and automatically can take months to develop as well as substantial resources.
- Increased risk: failure to comply with ICANN’s terms and conditions can lead to your accreditation being suspended, in turn this could lead to a loss of business as you become unable to register certain top level domains.
